Can you spot train?
There was a time not so long ago that I would have said “absolutely not”
Now I think differently. Perhaps its the old age creeping in but even though science tells us that we have little control over where the fat goes on and comes off. That fat storage is very much a metabolic and genetic issue.
Just look at your family – don’t most of the women in your family collect the fat on either their butt and thighs or on their upper body like back and belly?
Haven’t you ever noticed that when all you want to do is take the weight off your butt you seem to get thinner and thinner up top? What’s that all about?
The hurtful truth has always come back to say – you can’t fight nature. I used to coach that you had to just be patient with your weight loss and nature will undress you in the opposite fashion it dressed you. That is to say – if you put the weight on your derriere first you could bank it would come off last.
Can you spot train?
That statement is still true but I now believe you can do certain types of spot training that will help to increase your fat loss more rapidly in those bothersome, first-on last-off areas.
Here is the secret. Yes you do still need to find a program you like for a full body health regime. One that includes a full body resistance program and healthy (HEALTHY) nutrition program.
I don’t care which one you pick just find something you will be happy with for the long haul.
Then just add one little ingredient to your day that will make the fat in this one area disappear quicker. After you have completed your designed fitness program take a few minutes just to quiet your mind.
The secret to spot training
OK this next part might sound a little weird but I swear it works.
Fix the image in your mind of that particular body part – butt, boobs, back – whatever. Picture it as you desire it to be not the way it looks now – but the way its going to look once you have successfully transformed your body.
Pick a resistance exercise you want to do that targets that area.
Now, with that image in your mind say a sentence of gratitude for having accomplished your goal of having such a beautiful and healthy booty. “I am so happy and grateful that I can now bounce a quarter off my buttocks”
Get truly emotionally HAPPY about it.
While you are focused and happy and grateful for your new looking body part do that targeted exercise. Keep focusing on the vision.
Just do this one extra set every two or three days (depending on how you feel), but every day do your vision and say your gratitude and hold that thought for a few minutes.
How could that possibly work?
There are many explanations for it and will go more into depth later BUT – the quick explanation is by focusing positive images and being grateful and feeling true happiness sends your intention to your brain.
Target your fat loss
Your brain is a powerful thing. You know yourself you have read stories how people can do incredible things just by intending to do them – including incredible things like healing themselves.
Send your brain your intention of having a nice body and you will see the fat come off that area more quickly than you did the last time. I know – I’ve done it and it works!
