This week I sent out a survey to all the members of The Inside Trainer Inc.
You may find some of the results surprising.
Thank you so much for those of you who participated.
I welcome all comments below this post.
Fitness Survey and Results November 2013
Q1.With the Holidays coming up there are going to be festivities. Keeping in mind all the treats and glasses of good cheer – which of the following statements do you believe is correct for you.
I see the results of this survey there is some frustration with uncontrolled weight gain.
Gaining weight over the holidays is a common concern but feeling like you have no control over it takes some of the fun out of it.
I know you have all read the ‘tips & tricks’ you can find on the internet for not gaining over the holidays. If they really did work – you wouldn’t be here. I’ll address this for you with proven solutions to holiday weight gain before the festivities get here.
What isn’t shown in this graph is the written responses some of you took the additional time to write. The common theme was expressing frustration at how hard it was to stop gaining weight as we get older and how the stress of the holiday’s contributes to ‘stress eating’.
Q2. Having your choice of fitness or weight loss programs – do you prefer…
This is great!
The number of candidates that responded they wanted a diet and exercise program tells me that you are an educated audience. Although you may be struggling with your weight you have taken the time to learn about weight loss and how your body works.
The written responses expressed frustration with how to effectively design a diet and exercise regime that will suit you and your schedule.
Q3. With the New Year coming and assuming you have decided to make weight loss part of your Resolutions. How much weight do you want to lose?
This one is pretty much an even split with weight loss needs.
The way to address losing 25 lbs or losing 100 lbs is different and needs to be explained for long-term health goals.
Approaching a diet that is extremely calorie restricted will drop the fat off anybody, but it isn’t a long-term answer and ends up with many people quitting in frustration.
How to handle loosing weight for your specific group will be detailed in this new program.
Q4. Would you like to know what day you will reach your fitness goal?
Most people who responded said yes!
There is a way to do this using a mathematical formula.
I can pretty much guarantee what day you will reach your goal weight if you follow a well planned fitness program.
There is a video coming out soon where I will will show you how you too can pick the day of your goal weight.
Q5. Do you prefer a weight loss / fitness program that is designed for…
As you can see the vast majority would like a fitness program designed specifically just for you.
I have to ask – have you hired a nutritionist or a personal trainer? If not, why not?
Q6. Assuming you chose C above – AND – you had access to a fun and highly motivating Weight Loss Challenge that involved diet, fitness, motivation, education, and healthy workplace issues – would you want to be in a group with…
Online community wins over competing with friends or family.
It can be difficult to try a stick to fitness and weight loss when you don’t have the support of others just like you. We can help with that by providing you with a supportive and active community here.
An online community can be excellent, with encouragement from other people who understand and often going through the same as what you are going through. Sharing their experiences and how they overcame their challenges can provide you with insight you can’t get anyplace else.
Q7. Would you be happy with a weight loss and fitness program that was based on REAL food and REAL life that you could fit in to your busy work day?
From the comments on this question it seems clear that REAL is the way to go. Low fat and excessive food restrictions don’t work for you.
They don’t work for me either. Real food and fitness that anyone can do is very effective! Especially for long-term weight loss, health, and fitness goals.
Q8. If you answered ‘YES’ to the last question and would like to fit fitness into your already busy day. How would you prefer to do it.
For those who don’t work outside of the home, workday style fitness can also be adapted as work-at-home fitness. The positive benefits will be the same.
Q9. Do you have a particular goal you would like to reach?
Many of you reminded me that I had completely forgot to include ‘belly fat’ as a choice. I added it later but it was too late to be included in this survey.
With a resounding vote for ‘total trim and tone’ this too tells me you are an educated group.
This means you aren’t going to fall for any of that fake weight loss hoopla and are ready to dig in and do your best.
Thank you again for your participation in this survey.
