Doesn’t sound like much but it is the keystone to all fitness and weight loss successes. And most importantly, the permanence of that success.
Awareness makes it easy to lose weight because it takes all the guess work out of it. Remember all those times when you would wonder – can I eat this? or can I do that? Awareness is what you will acquire just by focusing in on your habits.
Build a solid foundation of where you are starting from. Don’t even worry about jumping onto another diet or joining a gym yet. Don’t buy anything different or do anything different – except – pay attention and write it down. (sorry – I know it sucks, but I promise it will pay off big dividends.)
Write everything down and I guarantee you, you will surprise yourself. I know I always do. I am no different from you, I like junk and ice cream and creamy dressings, and pastry’s and on and on, so I too had to get into the habit of awareness.
Just for this week, write it all down. Go get a new notebook just for this purpose and feel free to journal how you are feeling too.
By writing down what you eat and even measuring it (I know another pain in the butt) you will get a real world view of what you are eating. I’m not saying its bad – just develop your awareness and keep being aware so you will know what the difference is when you start to make adjustments to a healthier diet.
